Journal Entry #3
Writing
a paper can feel like a difficult task, especially if one did not have the
opportunity to learn the “do and don’t” of writing that paper. In the eyes of
others, peer review gives the writer a chance to point out those mistakes. The
positive criticism the reviewer gives to the writer brings benefits. One
benefit can be in helping out on issues such as clarity in the writing.
Basically, the writer can find out if the reader understood what the writer is
trying to state. Peer review points out where in the format of writing, the
writer is weak and strong at. Lets say, strong in writing with emotion, but
weak in grammar and punctuation.
In
the peer review I received, all the advice/suggestions were important. The
advice were valid and given with reason. One advice that can stand out as
important to my paper would be my use of formal and informal language. Another
advice that definitely can be important would be my sentence structures. If the
language and structure of my words and sentences lack proper application, then
my reader would not enjoy or even understand what I wrote. Therefore, peer
review is important and beneficial.
