Subject: An Increase of Available Math Tutors
Taking a math course is pretty intense
and overwhelming for most students in City College of New York (CCNY). Although
taking a math course can be challenging, it is still a requirement for most
majors and graduation. Due to this predicament, students rely on tutoring.
Students in CCNY has experienced
frustration with the math tutoring services, due to low amounts of tutors.
There are hundreds of students who seek tutoring services, with only six to ten
tutors available. If any student is fortunate to receive a tutor, the amount of
time focused on the student is limited. This circumstance puts students in CCNY
at risk of failing their math courses.
Establishing a greater tutoring staff will have favorable
outcomes for the following reasons:
·
It allows a greater amount of students
receive tutoring.
·
Increase employment opportunities for
math tutors.
·
Increase math success rate, which
contributes to graduation success rates.
Thank you for your understanding and
cooperation. If there are any suggestions or questions feel free to contact me
at Lrivera002@ccny.cuny.edu. Looking forward in hearing from you.
